Jabra BT8010 Bluetooth Stereo Headset
Jabra BT8010 Bluetooth Headset $100 – $150
So I needed a bluetooth headset to use with my Mogul PDA / Phone. I wanted a bluetooth headset that had a Digital display that showed the number calling as well as a few other features, but the caller ID display was a big reason.
Now you might ask, how can you see that display when the thing is on your ear ? Well you don’t of course. I like put the headset on the table or clipped to a stand in the car… this way, the phone rings I see who’s calling and just grab the headset and throw it on my ear.
I also like the battery gauge, and all the information the OLED screen gives you. There is a center button for call answer / hang and a scroll wheel that does the volume during a call or sets up options.
A cool features is this headset also supports the stereo A2DP sound profiles, so you can listen to MP3’s, etc by adding the included add-on headphone to give you something to put in both ears. So you get a mono bluetooth AVRCP phone profile for phone use, then simply switch it over to stereo mode by holding down a button and you got stereo mode.
There is DSP background noise reduction (though this is no jawbone) it does do an ok job at reducing background noise. You can also connect / pair up to 2 devices at a time to the BT8010. The headset also give you the ability to store named contacts within the device through pc software. You can also toggle a vibration alert for calls.
So far it’s been working great with my Mogul and Macbook Pro.
