Seiko Monster with the new $4.50 resin band…
Another reason I love the Seiko Monster series of watches is how easily you can change the look of the watch with watch bands.
The monster can use virtually any 20mm width watch band. The above watch band cost me only $4.50 and is available at any Target or Walmart store in the watch department.
It’s a universal fit band made by timex that includes molded in accents. At first I thought this may look lame, the offical Seiko divers band is a bit more simple, very similar looking, but costs $30. This band is only $4.50 including a new set of pins for the strap.
You can see the strap online here: Vogue Strap
I like that the strap widens up near the watch case (like the stock strap). It equally matches the metal band strap in width so it looks nice on the watch.
Since the monster is a nice watch with a fairly large case, any strap (20mm) that flare out a tad as it nears the watch case should look nice. It looks like a 25mm strap.
My next strap is going to be a black leather with white stitch.
For reference here is the Seiko with the metal band:
IF you are going to order a Monster watch GET THE METAL BAND ! The metal band costs $65 alone… so order your watch with the METAL band, you can always get a $5 band (like the one above) to change the look of the watch.
